Volunteer
Many volunteer opportunities exist at West Park. Volunteers work in a variety of capacities, from clerical support to the classroom to special events and activities. If you would like to volunteer or go on field trips with your child’s class you will need to come into the office and fill out a Volunteer/Background Check application. It only takes a few minutes to fill out the applications, you will need to supply your Oregon Driver’s license number. It takes approximately 2 weeks to process your application through the State of Oregon. Parents are encouraged to fill one out when their child begins Kindergarten. Don’t wait, you might miss out on an opportunity to accompany your child on a fun-filled activity!

PTO – Parent Teacher Organization
West Park hosts an active PTO that includes parents and teachers working together to create a quality-learning environment for our children. The West Park PTO meets monthly to plan fundraisers and coordinate activities. Activities include an annual carnival and Dad’s Cake bake. Fundraisers are held in the Fall and in the Spring. Committees include: Carnival, General Mills box tops, Campbell Soup Labels, fundraising, volunteers, and communication. Officers are elected annually. Recent parent group efforts have included supporting grade level field trips, the Music program, and a new Popcorn machine. Other efforts have gone to supporting positive behavioral incentives, awards and instruction in the classrooms.
